Komatsu Matere Sustainability vision

In 1999, the Komatsu Matere Group formulated the “Komatsu Seiren (at that time) Environmental Management Declaration” for Until now, we have positioned environmental conservation and environmental creation as the most important management issues, Then, in order to realize a sustainable society in the future, we have regulated and integrated five items in FY2020. With the new “Komatsu Matere Sustainability Vision,” we have begun full-scale efforts toward the SDGs.

Priorities

  • Protect people’s safety by extending the service life of buildings and social infrastructure through the widespread use of CABKOMA (carbon fiber rods).
  • Protect urban safety from typhoons and torrential rains by promoting Greenbiz (super water retention and permeability ceramics).
  • Actively participate in the partition stockpile PJT to evacuation shelters in disaster-stricken areas, and protect people’s safety from viruses by adding anti-virus processing.
  • Reduce the amount of land unsuitable for cultivation and preserve white sand, green pine trees, and coastal forests by promoting environmentally symbiotic soil conditioners.

Priorities

  • Work to solve local social issues, such as revitalizing local industries and maintaining coastal forests, through hometown tax payment and employee participation.
  • Hold dialogue events with residents and employees to raise awareness of the environment. We will also donate the proceeds to projects to maintain disaster-stricken areas and coastal forests.
  • Implement a health management declaration. Proactively work to maintain and improve the health of employees.
  • Thoroughly implement safety education in the workplace. Promote the creation of a safe workplace.
